Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Service Preparation: Prepare the clinic for opening each day by reviewing the facility, opening all systems applications, and preparing new patient registration packets and required documents.
  • Patient Registration: Greet patients, provide patients with initial paperwork, and obtain copies of insurance and identification cards.
  • Registration and Verification: Register patients, update patient records, verify insurance accurately and timely, and check patients out.
  • Payment Processing: Determine, collect, and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues.
  • Customer Service: Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests.
  • Financial Management: Balance daily patient charges (cash, check, credit cards) against system reports and complete closing procedures by preparing closing documentation and submitting required reports.
  • Security and Compliance: Complete cash control procedures and secure financial assets, maintaining complete and accurate documentation.
Requirements
  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous medical clerical experience preferred.
  • Skills: Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office, accuracy and detail orientation, positive customer service skills, well-groomed appearance, and clear and articulate phone mannerisms.
