Job Summary

Vector Talent Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Field Safety Specialist to join our team. As a Field Safety Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Area Safety Manager in the implementation and management of our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of Safety Documentation and Records: Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of safety documentation and records
  • Safety Efforts and Strategy: Support the Area Safety Manager in safety efforts and strategy through multiple channels
  • Positive Present Solutions: Provide positive present solutions when presenting problems
  • Audits and Inspections: Perform area and job site level audits based on event trending, lagging/leading indicators, and safety needs identified with the Area Safety Manager or another department senior manager
  • Injury Management: Coordinate injury management through the Workman's Compensation Manager and assist in establishing area injury management resources and relationship building as assigned by the Area Safety Manager
  • Safety Leadership: Provide safety leadership and promote a positive safety culture as assigned
  • Safety Audits: Participate in safety audits across the organization and coordinate corrective action feedback to the Area Safety Manager and operations management
  • Training and Development: Assist with training instruction and scheduling as directed by the Area Safety Manager
  • Special Projects: May assist with/lead special projects as assigned related to organization-wide related safety matters
  • Root Cause Identification: Assist with root cause identification, investigations, and case management within the assigned area, also including field audits, new hire orientation, and coaching
  • Expense Reporting: Complete a monthly expense report for the company Purchasing card. Shall spend within set departmental guidelines. Submit Purchase Card activity monthly to the Area Safety Manager
  • OSHA Audits: Coordinate, manage and respond to OSHA agency-level audits as directed by the Area Safety Manager or other departments senior managers
  • Timely Notifications: Ensure timely notifications for serious events are made to the Area Safety Manager
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required
  • 2 Years Construction, Traffic Control, Vacuum Truck, and/or Sewer Inspection Experience: Required
  • OSHA 30 Hour Training: Required
  • Clear Current State Driver's License: Demonstrates safe driving behaviors
  • Pass Pre-employment Drug Test and Subsequent Random Drug Tests: Includes marijuana
  • Able to Pass a Background Check: Required
  • On-call 24/7 or as Assigned: After hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic MS Office and Computer Skills: Required
  • Confidentiality and Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality of all company incident files and all required documentation in compliance with regulatory and company standards
  • Resourceful Problem-Solver: Provide excellent customer service and have a positive can-do attitude
  • Ability to Multi-task and Manage Changing Priorities: Required
  • Effective Communication: Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Autonomy and Adaptability: Ability to work autonomously with little supervision and adapt to changing situations
  • Physical Demands: Ability to regularly work near moving traffic and machines and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
  • Lifting and Manual Dexterity: Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and effectively jump, sprint, or throw an object
