The Opportunity

Flock Safety's Sourcing Team is responsible for developing and executing supplier strategies, selecting, and monitoring supplier performance. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring new product introduction support, cost optimization, multi-sourcing, and supplier strategy and performance.

We are seeking an experienced sourcing professional with a strong track record of building relationships with global vendors. The ideal candidate will have operational excellence paired with a growth mindset, enabling creative problem-solving. They should have experience sourcing technical products and new product introduction experience in a manufacturing and technology industry. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as negotiation and collaboration abilities, are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between Supply Chain and Engineering teams
  • Manage and coordinate new product launches, soliciting existing suppliers and finding new ones
  • Lead, manage, and track cost savings and cost reduction initiatives within assigned products/suppliers
  • Manage key vendor accounts, including performance, contract negotiation, payment terms, issue resolution, etc.
  • Develop a portfolio technology roadmap to highlight opportunities for future engineering adoption
  • Create a feedback loop and performance management cycle with the supply base, reacting to input from internal cross-functional teams and performance indicators
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in electronics or technology sourcing
  • A degree in supply chain, sourcing, business, or engineering
  • Extensive experience working with and managing suppliers
  • Experience in new product development
  • Experience working with electrical and mechanical suppliers
  • Negotiation and contract management experience
  • Self-starter with strong project management skills, decision-making, and organizational abilities
