Job Title: Jr. Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Jr. Sous Chef to join our culinary team at The Wonderful Company. As a Jr. Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of food at our restaurant, managing daily kitchen prep work and station set-up, and maintaining the highest quality food preparation standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting culinary dishes
  • Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen
  • Troubleshooting any problems that may arise
  • Communicating with The Farmstead regarding needed products
  • Supporting teammates in managing their time, prep, and mentoring the quality and efficiency of work
  • Supporting the ordering and inventory control and ensuring that needed ingredients are ordered
  • Training lower-level staff in their department and holding them accountable
  • Maintaining organization of walk-ins, dry storage, and other kitchen storage areas
  • Working with the Chef and Chef de Cuisine to create seasonal-appropriate dishes
  • Supporting the Restaurant with prep & execution of Events and Lunch
Requirements:
  • 2+ Years Fine Dining Culinary Experience
  • Culinary Degree Preferred
  • Serv-Safe Certified
  • Demonstrated strong ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to establish direction, obtain commitment and execute appropriate logistical processes
  • Comfortable in Dealing with Guest and Purveyors daily
  • Exceptional attention to detail, and passion about food
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced working environment
  • Have a calm and approachable demeanor
  • Superb time management and organizational skills
