Job Summary

MaineGeneral Health is a comprehensive non-profit healthcare system dedicated to enhancing the health of our patients, families, and communities. We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ED Behavioral Health Suite team.

About the Role

The Behavioral Health RN will provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. This role requires a minimum of three years of acute care RN work experience serving this patient population, and a valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Salary and Career Mobility
