About the Role

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting mental health, preventing psychiatric disorders, and assisting individuals in managing mental health conditions. As a Behavioral Health Nurse, you will be part of a welcoming and therapeutic environment where patients are treated with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement patient care plans based on individual assessments to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
  • Evaluate the learning needs of patients and families, providing education and support to ensure optimal health outcomes.
  • Delegate and communicate patient care needs to ancillary personnel, ensuring seamless care delivery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion.
  • 1 year of acute care RN experience serving this patient population (preferred).
  • New graduates are welcome to apply.
  • BLS and MOAB (preferred).
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors.
