Behavioral Health Nurse Position at MaineGeneral Health

MaineGeneral Health is a leading healthcare provider in Augusta, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team on 3 South, our inpatient behavioral health unit.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting mental health, preventing psychiatric disorders, and assisting individuals in managing mental health conditions. As a Behavioral Health Nurse, you will be part of a welcoming and therapeutic environment where patients are treated with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement patient care plans based on individual assessments to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, admissions, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate the learning needs of patients and families, providing education and support to ensure optimal health outcomes.
- Delegate and communicate patient care needs to ancillary personnel, ensuring seamless care delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid state of Maine RN license or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion.
- 1 year of acute care RN experience serving this patient population (preferred).
- New graduates are welcome to apply.
- BLS and MOAB (preferred).
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate and excel in a healthcare environment with many inherent stressors.
