As a Radiologic Technologist, you will perform a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages. You will utilize computer processing skills, injection skills as needed, and other related techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by a radiologist or other credentialed specialist.
- Apply knowledge of growth and development to provide exceptional patient care.
- Operate highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain high-quality images.
- Perform duties associated with processing patients, including scheduling, registration, file management, and computer processing skills.
- Evaluate, prepare, position, and observe patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience, and safety.
- Comply with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in the training of students and staff as assigned.
- Maintain competencies and meet or exceed standards for each skill performed.
- Maintain required certification for each skill and enhance personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or GED and graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology, other associated Imaging technologies, or other approved training in Computerized Tomography required. CT experience preferred.
Licensure and Certification:
AARRT registry, registry eligible. If not registered in CT, must become CT registered within 2 years of hire date. AHA BLS-HCP required; may be required to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific work unit.
Skills and Abilities:
Good interpersonal, technical skills, and flexibility in assignments. Must be able to function independently and have good computer and communication skills.
