We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team at Hawai'i Island Community Health Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate billing of patient services, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Process and manage patient billing data, including charges, payments, and insurance claims
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient account information
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and payer contracts
- Prepare and submit reports as required
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff to resolve billing-related issues
- High school graduate or equivalent and two years of related experience in medical billing
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems (CPT, ICD-10)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
The Billing Specialist will work in a office environment with moderate noise levels. The position requires frequent use of a computer, phone, and other office equipment. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
