Radiology Imaging Specialist

Huntsville Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiology Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will play a critical role in preparing equipment and patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare equipment and patients for diagnostic imaging procedures under the general supervision of the Imaging Manager.
- Perform radiographic and computerized tomography procedures safely and accurately, as ordered and directed according to established practices and procedures.
- Maintain a safe environment to deliver high-quality patient care and accurate imaging.
- Properly setup, use, and operate X-ray equipment, utilizing correct settings for each examination.
- Position and instruct patients, and determine proper exposure factors for each radiograph.
- Properly setup, use, and operate mobile X-ray equipment.
- Use proper safety standards and radiation protection devices.
- Administer contrast media of different kinds for evaluation of internal organs and systems under the direction of a Radiologist.
- Properly setup, use, and operate CT scanner in accordance with established procedures.
- Attend all in-services and meetings as required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle PHI appropriately.
- Abide by the HMH Legal Compliance Code of Conduct.
- Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns appropriately.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Completion of a formal radiology technology program.
- Documented supervised performance of a minimum of 125 repetitions of computed tomography procedures according to the criteria of the ARRT.
- Current State of Texas license and current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment, before patient care is administered independently.
Medium strength is required to position patients for examination or treatment.
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking.
Occasional reaching, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, and twisting.
Visual and hearing acuity required; depth perception needed to examine exposed film for pertinent details.
Work is mostly inside, with good ventilation and comfortable temperature.
Possible exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals or detergents, moving mechanical parts, potential electric shock, radiant energy, communicable diseases, and blood-borne pathogens.
