Job Overview

Region V Services is seeking a Medical Services Associate to provide critical support in facilitating healthcare needs for individuals served. This role plays a vital part in ensuring seamless communication between clients, families, staff, and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:
  • Client Care
    • Facilitate effective communication with clients, families, and staff to understand individual needs and goals.
    • Schedule and attend medical appointments, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate record-keeping.
    • Transport clients to medical facilities, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Maintain comprehensive unit files, documenting significant medical information and progress updates.
    • Assist in daily living needs training, as directed by the Individual Support Planning Team.
    • Participate in staff meetings and training conferences to stay informed on policies and best practices.
  • Supportive Functions
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and least restrictive treatment plans.
    • Perform duties after hours or weekends as needed to address client emergencies.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, etc.).
  • Able to work effectively with diverse populations, organize details accurately, and make informed decisions regarding medical matters.
  • Lifting may be required; adaptive equipment must be used when available.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge.
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and random screenings throughout employment are mandatory.
  • One year of experience in human services.

Estimated Salary: $19.23 - $19.82 per hour
