Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Ultrasound Equipment: Ensure optimal patient care by operating ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic scans.
  • Evaluate and Verify Image Quality: Verify image quality according to PHHS standards to ensure adherence to quality control protocols.
  • Review and Interpret Exams: Review and interpret intermediate/complex exams with attending physicians to determine additional procedures.
  • Determine Equipment Needs: Determine equipment needs for complex examinations to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
  • Identify and Distinguish Modalities: Identify and distinguish appropriate modalities of cardiac ultrasound, including motion mode, Doppler, two-dimensional, and color flow.
  • Maintain and Troubleshoot Equipment: Maintain and perform intermediate troubleshooting of ultrasound equipment to ensure maximum availability.
  • Inspect and Prepare Exam Rooms: Inspect, clean, and prepare exam rooms after each patient to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Complete and Distribute Reports: Complete, log, and distribute billing reports to ensure accuracy of patient charges.
  • Improve Work Processes: Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction, making recommendations to supervisors.
  • Participate in Research Studies: Participate in research studies regarding intermediate sonographic procedures with other medical staff.
  • Provide Clinical Instructions: Provide clinical instructions for new physicians and fellows in sonographic practices and procedures.
  • Stay Abreast of Developments: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments, advancements, and trends in Sonography.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 1+ years of experience in Sonography working OB/GYN cases.
  • Travel Experience: Travel experience preferred.
  • Certifications: ARDMS OBGYN discipline required; Fetal Echo certification strongly preferred.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Must have MFM, high-risk OBGYN, and pre-natal experience.
  • Active Certifications: All certifications must be active.
