Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Automation Service Technician II to join our team at TDIndustries. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, replacement, and technical support for Commercial Controls Building Automation Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose system performance through observation, testing, and setup as required by trade/position.
  • Perform planned maintenance and inspections as indicated in the service agreement.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment proficiently.
  • Complete service contracts, quoted service projects, and demand service calls as directed.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and explain work performed to their satisfaction.
  • Participate in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
  • Complete documentation of invoicing data based on hours worked and materials/equipment used to complete the service.
  • Safely drive a motor vehicle and trailer, following requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adhering to all company safety requirements.
  • Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of building automation & controls experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two-year technical degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience with programming and controls database management.
  • Tridium AX/N4, Distech, and Siemens Certification preferred.
  • Fundamentals of A/C electrical circuits and low voltage D/C electrical circuits and operation.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more controls platforms (Siemens, Distech, JCI, Inet, etc.).
  • General controls, installations, troubleshooting, and repair experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
  • Ability to use testing and metering devices.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and software.
  • Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.
  • Demonstrates strong business ethics at all times.
