Job Title: Pharmacist

Job Summary:

The County of Los Angeles is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing expert pharmacy services in a hospital, clinic, correctional facility, or other healthcare setting. You will work closely with healthcare staff, patients, and others to provide information about drugs and other pharmaceuticals, screen prescriptions and medication orders, and monitor patient conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert information to healthcare staff, patients, and others about drugs and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Screen prescriptions and medication orders for completeness, proper authorization, dosage and quantity, therapeutic compatibility, drug interactions, and allergies.
  • Monitor patient conditions through observation of physical or laboratory reactions to drug therapy and report findings to attending physicians.
  • Supervise or perform the preparation of drug labels and the affixing of labels to the proper containers.
  • Provide technical supervision to Pharmacy Technicians and Intern Pharmacists in the prepacking of pharmaceuticals.
  • Develop, maintain, and supervise the operation of drug distribution systems.
  • Select, compound, and dispense drugs and other pharmaceutical products ordered by physicians, dentists, and other licensed medical practitioners.

Requirements:

  • One year of work experience as a Registered Pharmacist.
  • Successful completion of a residency program in pharmacy.
  • A current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
