Position Summary:
The Supply Chain and Retail Operations Manager will oversee the procurement of essential items for retail sales and manage the acquisition of materials required for daily operations at Grand Canyon Resort Corporation. This role involves collaboration with leadership, operational teams, and suppliers to identify the most efficient and cost-effective procurement strategies.
The individual will also be tasked with researching potential new suppliers, conducting requests for proposals (RFPs), and fostering strong professional relationships to ensure seamless operations.
Additionally, this position entails monitoring inventory across all organizational levels, optimizing inventory practices, and minimizing losses.
As a representative of the Hualapai Tribe, the individual will be expected to uphold the Tribe's interests in all professional interactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Continuously assess and determine optimal inventory levels to enhance profitability while regularly reviewing pricing strategies.
- Serve as a consultant to various departments, assisting with purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, retail space utilization, and inventory assessments.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure cohesive branding across retail environments and purchasing activities.
- Regularly evaluate vendor performance to ensure cost-effective solutions are being utilized.
- Stay informed about and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, recommending updates to policies as necessary.
- Foster effective communication and relationships with department leaders, ensuring that the needs of various departments are met efficiently.
- Conduct all activities with the utmost integrity and professionalism.
- Adhere to departmental protocols and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Keep the CFO and executive team informed of ongoing issues and developments.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of best practices in retail, supply chain management, procurement, and inventory oversight.
- In-depth knowledge of purchasing and inventory management systems.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record in team recruitment, training, and development.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a knack for resolving conflicts.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in retail management, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing supply chain functions within a large organization with multiple locations is required.
- In lieu of a bachelor's degree, at least ten (10) years of relevant experience is acceptable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service and support to team members and guests.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational abilities.
- Experience in a Tribal organization is preferred.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
- Preference will be given to Hualapai Tribal members.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, and bend for extended periods.
- Must be able to concentrate for prolonged periods.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Effective communication skills are essential, both in person and via telecommunications.
- Must possess the dexterity to operate a keyboard, touchscreen, telephone, and calculator.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must provide authorization to work in the United States.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and be approved to operate a company vehicle.
- Must comply with all internal policies and procedures as outlined in the GCRC Team Member Handbook.
Work Environment:
The work environment will include both indoor and outdoor settings across various business locations, with exposure to diverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow. Occasional travel for meetings and assignments may be required, along with extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed to fulfill business requirements. The role may involve handling challenging situations with team members and guests.
