Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electro-Optical Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Coherent Corp. in Budd Lake, New Jersey. This role will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for our electro-optical components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes for electro-optical components and assemblies.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
  • Assemble and test opto-mechanical and electro-optic prototypes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), drawings, and procedures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Provide technical support to production and NPI teams as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, plus 5 years' experience in similar industry; or master's degree or higher.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly with optical systems and components.
  • Experience in working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, Solid-Works, and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with lasers, optical systems, electronics, and quality control standards.
