Job Summary

This position supports student achievement and implementation of the core curriculum for the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP) accredited program at the College.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate student performance in the clinical or laboratory setting and monitor progress towards performance goals.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies to ensure student understanding and success.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure alignment with program goals and objectives.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in surgical technology education.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program with a minimum of a certificate of accomplishment in surgical technology.
  • Current credential as a Certified Surgical Technologist, CST.
  • Two years of current experience in the operating room in the scrub role.
  • Ability to push, lift, and pull a minimum of 20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR Certification.
  • Proof of immunizations and titers for MMR, varicella, TB, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and annual Flu vaccine, or valid documentation of alternatives.
  • Clear background check, drug screen, and fingerprinting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in surgical technology or higher degree in a technical field.
  • Teaching experience in surgical technology education.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
