Training and Development

New employees will receive comprehensive training to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles.

Compensation

Annual Salary:

  • Level I: $37,000 with Full State Employee Benefits
  • Level II: $40,000 with Full State Employee Benefits
  • Level III: $43,000 with Full State Employee Benefits

Applicants with a Master's Degree in Social Work will receive a salary incentive of an additional 5%.

On-call positions may receive a bonus ranging from $100 to $150 bi-weekly, based on responsibilities.

Travel Requirements

This position involves extensive travel. A valid driver's license and maintenance of required car insurance are mandatory. State vehicles will be provided for job-related duties.

Minimum QualificationsChild Welfare Specialist, Level I
  • Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university.
  • OR 3 years of relevant experience in child welfare.
  • OR a combination of education and experience.
Child Welfare Specialist, Level II
  • A bachelor's degree in any field.
  • OR one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Child Welfare Specialist, Level III
  • A Master's degree.
  • OR a Bachelor's Degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
  • OR two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
  • All new employees will complete the Child Welfare Core Academy Training Program.
  • Resource Family staff will oversee daily operations, planning, and management of foster care and adoption activities, including the maintenance of all foster, kinship, and adoptive families.
  • Provide in-home support and social work services for families seeking or approved for adoption or foster care.
  • Deliver training and consultation to foster families and other placement providers.
  • Conduct family assessments and perform annual reassessments.
  • Review children's histories and coordinate their placements.
