Child Welfare Leadership Specialist

Job Summary:

This leadership-level position provides direct supervision to a unit of lower-level Child Welfare Specialists within Child Protective Services, Family Centered Services, and Permanency Planning.

As a direct supervisor, the successful candidate will interview and select team applicants, maintain personnel records, complete performance evaluations, train new staff, perform case reviews, and develop and administer in-services training programs.

The position requires close coordination and consultation with other Child Welfare Supervisors and District Directors regarding appropriate case actions and referrals, auditing and tracking of referrals with providers to ensure and verify the delivery of contractual services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision to a unit of lower-level Child Welfare Specialists
  • Interview and select team applicants
  • Maintain personnel records and complete performance evaluations
  • Train new staff and perform case reviews
  • Develop and administer in-services training programs
  • Coordinate and consult with other Child Welfare Supervisors and District Directors

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree plus two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
  • OR
  • Bachelors Degree plus three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
  • OR
  • Four years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist

Working Conditions:

This position requires extensive travel and possession of a valid driver's license and required car insurance.
