Civil Engineering Specialist

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Execute responsibilities that require a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and practices across various assignments and related sectors. Make independent decisions regarding engineering challenges and methodologies, employing advanced techniques and adapting theories, principles, and practices within the field and associated disciplines. Perform tasks aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, fostering continuous improvement, ensuring employee safety, and achieving cost reductions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize scientific principles as directed, explore suitable methods/procedures, and recommend their integration into engineering initiatives.
- Contribute to the application of engineering and scientific principles to fulfill technical specifications.
- Develop technical concepts, strategize for implementation, assess technical progress, evaluate design tests, analyze performance data, and propose solutions to engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with other technical professionals, providing general advice, training, and technical support.
- Oversee site management for Capital and Engineering coordination.
- Take overall responsibility for the development, submission, and management of Capex projects (SAP).
- Engage in the development of the Annual Plan.
- Ensure the appropriate allocation of internal and external resources to address equipment and process challenges.
- Focus on key metrics that drive business performance.
- Supervise all engineering documentation and maintain control over it.
- Assist Maintenance and Operations in critical reliability enhancement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience, ideally within a manufacturing context.
- Proficient in English communication.
- Strategic skills in cost management.
- Strong analytical and data analysis capabilities; adept at simplifying complex situations, identifying key issues, and solving problems. Sound decision-making skills.
- High proficiency in troubleshooting.
- Ability to communicate effectively and share knowledge.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
- Actively involved in operations and maintenance initiatives.
- Experience in adapting quickly to diverse work environments, being sensitive to cultural differences, building relationships, and collaborating successfully at all levels.
- Effective problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Sound reasoning, judgment, objectivity, and capability to manage ambiguity.
- Provide technical and resource support to maintenance for ongoing reliability challenges, especially during high-demand periods.
- Maintain organized files.
- Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all required safety policies and procedures.
- Actively work to uphold housekeeping responsibilities.
- Participate in safety audits.
- Maintain lockout certifications as assigned.
