Job Description

At The Food Depot, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Volunteer Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our community by supporting and strengthening our robust volunteer program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Volunteer Projects: Supervise volunteers in warehouse and during TFD at Siler, as well as at off-site locations, including but not limited to TFD Pantries, Casita de Comida, Food Mobiles, etc., as needed.
  • Volunteer Recruitment and Onboarding: Assist with onboarding volunteers by providing prompt communications via phone and email, processing applications, and ensuring setup via volunteer database.
  • Implement Volunteer Training, Appreciation, and Risk Management Procedures: Foster a culture of safety by prioritizing risk management; supporting the implementation of volunteer training and screening measures according to current public safety and organizational guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Experience with nonprofits or office administration is preferred.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to clearly, concisely, and effectively communicate in verbal and written communications.
  • Customer Service Background: Strong organizational skills, work ethic, and attention to detail are essential.
  • Physical Environment and Working Conditions: Ability to work in a warehouse/outdoor environment, maintain productivity in a shared workspace, and utilize manual and automatic pallet jacks, scales, pallet shrink wrap, and other equipment.
