Role Overview:

The Medical Technologist is responsible for conducting laboratory analyses. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the clinical implications of test results, as well as the operation of laboratory instruments, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all clinical testing within the assigned department.
  • Accurately record and report test results in a timely manner.
  • Perform and interpret quality control tests in accordance with established protocols.
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
  • Identify and resolve issues by following established procedures.
  • Consult with supervisors for decisions when criteria are not available.
  • Assist in evaluating new reagents, procedures, and equipment as directed.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and specialized servicing of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent; eligibility for certification is required.
  • Experience: Preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills.
