Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review and interpret current policies while contributing to the formulation of new guidelines in response to shifts in the healthcare landscape.
  2. Lead and manage both clinical and administrative initiatives that influence healthcare quality, costs, and patient outcomes.
  3. Identify and foster innovative solutions to enhance service effectiveness and quality.
  4. Act as a consultant and resource across various departments, potentially chairing committees and representing the organization in external engagements.
  5. Collaborate with physical health medical directors to elevate healthcare quality and provide behavioral health guidance.
  6. Support medical management teams to ensure prompt and consistent communication with members and providers.
  7. Engage with providers, service recipients, advocacy groups, and other behavioral health medical directors to embody the organization’s principles and values.
  8. Participate actively in state-level meetings overseeing the Managed Medicaid program.
  9. Demonstrate familiarity with NCQA accreditation standards, particularly HEDIS measures, and strive for continuous improvement in these areas.
  10. Utilize data analysis for enhancing quality, care management, and utilization management while influencing provider practices.

Qualifications:

Must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree.

Board certification in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is required.

An active, unrestricted medical license to practice in the relevant state is necessary.

A minimum of 10 years of clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is expected.

Skills and Certifications:

Possession of an M.D. or D.O. degree.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Experience with managed care or behavioral health organizations is preferred.

Background in general psychiatry, including clinical and leadership roles.

Preferred Previous Employers:

Experience with organizations such as Centene, United, Aetna, or private practices is desirable.

Local candidates from Louisiana are preferred, but we welcome applicants from other states willing to relocate and obtain a Louisiana medical license.
