Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Addiction Medicine will work closely with the Substance Use Disorder Medical Director to provide guidance on the development and treatment of substance use disorders in patients at MGB Salem Hospital. The primary focus will be on the development of substance use disorder treatment in the outpatient setting, including the intensive outpatient program.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in addiction medicine and a passion for working with patients who struggle with substance use disorders. The Registered Nurse - Addiction Medicine will be responsible for providing education and support to patients and their families, as well as collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on substance use disorders and treatment options.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans for patients with substance use disorders.
- Work closely with the Substance Use Disorder Medical Director to provide guidance on the development and treatment of substance use disorders.
- Provide guidance to address substance use disorders on all medical and psychiatric inpatient levels of care and in the emergency department.
- Participate in hospital-wide, community-based, and MGB SUD task forces.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of substance use issues and significant mental health concerns with adolescents and adults.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and families.
- Intensive attention and concentration skills.
- Sensitivity to cultural issues of patients served by the program.
- Ability to facilitate group communication between levels of service.
- Minimum of five years experience in treatment of SUD patients, including patients who struggle with other co-occurring disorders.
- Minimum of two years in providing supervisory experience to clinicians required.
- Masters Degree or higher in Social Work, Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or related field.
- Any licensed discipline (PhD/PsyD, LICSW or LMHC).
