The ideal candidate will have a background in robotics, with experience in hands-on development of commercial delivery robots. The candidate should possess expertise in one or more areas of robotic systems (localization, machine learning, motion planning, perception, or simulation). As a Robotics Engineering Development Specialist, you will be paired with a Senior Engineer to serve as a mentor during the 12-week paid internship. This is an opportunity to grow professionally, innovate in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to improving our robotic platform.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Complete a mutually beneficial internship project aligned with your interests and the current priorities of ST Engineering Aethon.

* Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers to solve complex, real-world robotic problems.

**Requirements:**

**Qualifications:**

* Currently pursuing a Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical degree.

* Strong software engineering background with knowledge of modern software engineering best practices.

* Experience using modern C++ (C++11, C++14, C++17).

* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Experience using Linux as a development environment.

**Desirable Skills:**

* Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System).

* Computer vision experience.

* Motion planning experience.

* Localization experience.

* Experience developing software using Python or Go.

Our estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and location.
