Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Manager to join our team at Metropolitan Ministries. As a key member of our Food Services department, you will be responsible for the daily operation and management of our Food Storage Warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cook and serve well-balanced meals at proper temperatures.
  • Prep and cook in the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food is prepared and presented.
  • Train volunteers to work in the kitchen, promoting a culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • Follow all food safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe environment for our clients and staff.
  • Keep serving lines well-stocked during serving times, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
  • Clean all kitchen floors, equipment, hood vents, coolers, serving lines, walls, restrooms, cambro food containers, and anything else that requires cleaning.
  • Perform all other aspects of food services, including utility work, dish and pan washing as needed.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED completed; prior food service experience required.
  • Current Florida Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary framework, demonstrating a heart for serving poor and homeless families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to supervise both individual and group volunteers.
  • Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with clients, staff, and volunteers.
  • Physical stamina to handle job-related issues and stress, with the ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
