We are seeking a World Class Talent to lead our team as a Senior level Ion Implantation process engineer at Tower Semiconductor.

Tower Semiconductor is a global specialty foundry leader specializing in manufacturing analog integrated circuits for over 300 customers worldwide.

Job Overview:

This is a permanent position at Tower Semiconductor in San Antonio, TX, for an external posting. The role involves leading the area for process development, transfer, and improvement in a high-volume manufacturing fab located in San Antonio.

The successful candidate will have excellent process and equipment hands-on experience, strong experimental skills, and prior knowledge of materials, vacuum systems, and ion implantation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the area and lead by establishing direction for improvements, sustaining, and overall operation.
  • Work closely with process, integration, and yield enhancement engineers to improve process metrics, such as SPC, yield, parametrics, and defects.
  • Recognize the need and define projects for process development and improvement.
  • Lead a group of process technicians in projects and daily sustaining activities.
  • Ensure matching of newly installed equipment to support production ramp.
  • Work with equipment engineering to improve uptime and tool utilization.
  • Implement advanced process control to improve Cpk at critical levels.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs.
Requirements and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D./M.S. recent graduate in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or materials science.

A proven strong background in statistics, SPC, DOE, and data analysis techniques is required.

Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary for this role.

Hands-on experience with equipment and processes is also required.

A good understanding of vacuum technology and thin films deposition techniques is essential.

Somewhat knowledge of device physics and device architecture is beneficial.
