Kaiser Permanente is looking for a Radiology Technician to join our dedicated team.
Position OverviewThe role involves providing essential diagnostic services within a clinical environment, while also handling necessary clerical tasks. The technician will perform duties that support teamwork and align with the mission and values of Kaiser Permanente Northwest.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic radiological procedures using advanced imaging equipment, tailored to the patient's age and condition, including routine, emergency, portable, surgical, and fluoroscopic examinations, adhering to departmental protocols.
- Manage image processing and utilize the current Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Collaborate with radiologists for film quality assurance and exam clarifications as needed.
- Oversee patient transport, registration, and scheduling, along with maintaining supply inventory and cleanliness of the workspace.
- Participate in on-call or standby schedules as required and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Basic Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) is mandatory.
- Certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) or Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (Oregon) is required.
- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification is required at the time of hire.
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic imaging equipment and healthcare computer systems.
- Exemplary customer service skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures for various imaging exams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with digital radiographic exams within the last three years.
- Strong organizational skills, including time management and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with McKesson PACS and EPIC electronic medical records systems.
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Science or a related field is advantageous.
