The Paramedic is a critical member of the CHI Saint Joseph Health care team, responsible for providing high-quality emergency medical care to patients in the emergency department. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of emergency medical services and the ability to work collaboratively with RNs, physicians, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Administer BLS, PALS, ACLS, and critical care interventions under the supervision of attending physicians.
- Perform triage, assessments, interventions, and patient education as needed.
- Document patient care services in a timely and accurate manner.
- Promote patient independence by establishing personal rapport and care goals, teaching patients and their families about condition, medications, and self-care skills.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to all CHI Saint Joseph Health policies, protocols, procedures, and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from a nationally/state-approved accrediting paramedic program.
- Unrestricted Kentucky Paramedic License.
- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS American Heart Association certifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data at all times.
- Adherence to organizational and department-specific safety standards and guidelines.
