We are seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Noncredit Parenting Educator to join our team at Foothill De Anza Community College District. As a member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in promoting family engagement, school and workforce readiness, and pathways to post-secondary education for families with children birth through adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach Noncredit Parenting courses that promote family engagement, school and workforce readiness, and pathways to post-secondary education for families with children birth through adolescents.
- Develop and implement curriculum that is based on family support and involvement.
- Provide parents with the tools and resources they need to raise healthy, successful children.
- Participate in the assessment of student work and timely submission of grades.
- Participate in staff development activities and be involved in the larger College or District community.
This position requires an indoor, office environment with regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time. Additionally, bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching, reaching overhead, above the shoulders, and horizontally, and lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs. are required.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development or early childhood education, educational psychology with a specialization in child development, elementary education, psychology, or family life studies.
- Two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education.
- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
Actual placement is based on applicant's verified education and experience.
