Job Summary

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a qualified Part-Time Noncredit Parenting Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Noncredit Parenting courses that promote family engagement, school and workforce readiness, and pathways to post-secondary education for families with children birth through adolescents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Noncredit Parenting courses that focus on family support and involvement, child development, and parenting education.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of diverse student populations.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with best practices in parenting education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, human development, family and consumer studies with a specialization in child development or early childhood education, educational psychology with a specialization in child development, elementary education, psychology, or family life studies.
  • Two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education.
  • Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in an indoor, office environment and will be required to perform tasks that involve hearing, speaking, vision, dexterity, and physical abilities such as standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.

Foothill De Anza Community College District does not reimburse applicants for travel, lodging, or any other costs incurred by applicant to attend interviews or accept employment. All interviewing and moving costs incurred will be the responsibility of the applicant.
