Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Noncredit Instructor for Anger Management and Domestic Violence to join our team at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching noncredit courses in Anger Management and Domestic Violence to students in the Rising Scholars program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach noncredit courses in Anger Management and Domestic Violence to students in the Rising Scholars program
  • Develop and implement curriculum for noncredit courses in Anger Management and Domestic Violence
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to support student success
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees and activities
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Sociology, or a related field
  • OR Bachelor's degree and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
  • OR Associate degree and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught
  • OR Bachelor's degree in Health Science, Health Education, Biology, Nursing, Dietetics, or Nutrition, or an Associate degree in any of those subjects, and four years of professional experience related to the subject of the course taught
Desirable Qualifications
  • Experience teaching content related to Anger Management and/or Domestic Violence
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work on a part-time basis, teaching noncredit courses in Anger Management and Domestic Violence to students in the Rising Scholars program. The teaching assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations.
