Position Overview:
The Project Manager will oversee project teams dedicated to supporting various clients. This role serves as the main liaison with clients regarding project developments and challenges. The individual will be accountable for the planning, organization, and execution of projects, ensuring adherence to quality benchmarks, budgetary limits, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with client management and executive teams concerning exploration and production (E&P) and upstream land operations support.
- Supervise projects to guarantee timely completion while adhering to budget forecasts.
- Strategic planning and project development; delegate tasks to enhance productivity, manage quality assurance, and surpass client expectations.
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including team members, clients, and management.
- Conduct meetings with client representatives to provide updates on project status, discuss timelines, and outline project scope.
- Perform cost analysis, estimating time and material expenses for projects. Develop and implement budgets based on these assessments.
- Generate comprehensive reports, including run sheets, title reports, and project summary updates.
- Monitor legislative changes and regulatory requirements affecting land management operations.
- Exhibit the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
- Embody the core values of Western Land Services in all professional activities.
- Undertake additional related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks, organize, and prioritize a variety of projects with overlapping deadlines independently.
- Proven success in leading teams and coordinating work assignments in line with specific project timelines.
- Oversee brokers and independent contractors for title research, lease acquisition, and comprehensive oil and gas enterprise resource evaluations.
- Experience in title and acquisition due diligence with the capacity to analyze held by production (HBP) title on unit, wellbore, and leasehold interests, including title opinion analysis and associated curative evaluations.
- Negotiate, draft, review, and modify oil and gas leases, assignments, farmout agreements, operating agreements, mineral deeds, surface use agreements, and other contracts pertinent to oil and gas transactions.
- Solid understanding of oil and gas laws, regulations, and rules across all operational areas, particularly in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico.
- Familiarity with regulatory provisions and statutes from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC), Texas Railroad Commission (RRC), and New Mexico Oil Conservation Division (OCD), including permitting, drilling completion forms, unit development, applications, and hearing protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and data organization through OneDrive and SharePoint.
- Advanced Excel skills preferred, including the ability to create and utilize complex formulas and functions for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to develop and maintain information databases, spreadsheets, and text documents.
- Ability to establish trust and rapport with all stakeholders, including Western client contacts, employees, independent contractors, potential lessors, and other client-directed parties.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to various business centers.
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas title due diligence, leasehold, and HBP title research.
- Preference for candidates with prior accounting education, certification, or experience.
- AAPL RPL/CPL certifications are emphasized but not mandatory.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
