About the Role

The Patient Care Representative is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient service and support. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
  2. Answer telephones promptly and direct calls to appropriate personnel or departments.
  3. Collect and distribute patient referral information received from affiliated physicians.
  4. Escort visitors and patients to appropriate areas and provide information to assist them.
  5. Distribute departmental reading material, such as the Emergency Department brochure, Health Care Proxy, and Patient Bill of Rights.
  6. Register patients by updating or entering demographic, financial information, and emergency contact data into the computer system.
  7. Verify demographic information and insurance coverage by interviewing patients, family members, or friends.
  8. Schedule appointments and file charts and retrieve records as needed.
  9. Deposit and reconcile all cash against deposits.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
  • One year of healthcare patient reception or related experience preferred.
