Job Summary

The Downstream Operator is a critical member of our production team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our packaging lines. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain packaging equipment, including the accumulator, diagraph, laser, caser, capper, straw applicator, shrink wrapper, mead, and elevator.
  • Conduct quality checks and troubleshoot issues to ensure high-quality products.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet production targets and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, as needed.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of production and quality control data.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • General mechanical skills and knowledge of the food industry a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds or more and work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions

This position is primarily located in an office environment, but may occasionally be exposed to wet and varying temperature conditions, loud noise, and airborne particles.

Additional Compensation

Eligible for participation in the Gehl Foods, LLC Bonus Program, which provides quarterly and annual bonus payouts based on achievement of targeted production numbers.
