Quality Assurance Systems Lead

The Quality Systems Supervisor is responsible for orchestrating and overseeing a comprehensive quality control program aimed at guaranteeing the continuous production of products that meet established quality standards. This role involves conducting thorough audits of production facilities to uphold company standards and maintain product integrity. The supervisor will collaborate with management and team leaders to address quality, production, efficiency, and utilization challenges, serving as a vital resource for various departments regarding quality and food safety matters.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement quality control programs for the fresh-packing facility in alignment with directives from Wonderful Citrus and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Ensure adherence to plant quality inspection protocols and maintain assigned work schedules.
- Assess overall product quality through rigorous testing and visual inspections across all product lines.
- Address and resolve quality concerns within the packing facility from post-harvest through to shipping.
- Monitor product movement and take corrective actions as necessary.
- Train and guide plant personnel on quality control testing, equipment usage, sanitation practices, and food safety protocols.
- Supervise staff involved in inspection processes and ensure they receive proper training.
- Oversee inspection activities throughout the production cycle, providing feedback and refining inspection criteria.
- Promote a culture of safety among associates and encourage participation in safety initiatives.
- Manage budgetary constraints and communicate any deviations promptly.
- Assist in managing the degreening process and coordinate with operations for scheduling fruit rollout and production.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a food processing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in computer applications; experience with Oracle or SAP is preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is advantageous.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues effectively.
- Experience in supervisory roles, including performance evaluations and staff development.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to perform calculations related to statistical analysis, inventory management, and other relevant metrics.
- Capability to address practical problems and interpret various forms of instructions.
