Pharmacist - Oncology Specialist - Angeles Clinic

Cedars-Sinai Angeles Clinic & Research Institute is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in the Oncology Department. As a Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing therapeutic recommendations and answering medication-related questions from healthcare providers.
This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work closely with our board-certified medical oncologists, surgeons, immunotherapists, pathologists, and dermatologists to advance cancer care.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, resolve, and prevent potential and actual medication-related problems, including untreated indications, improper drug selection, sub-therapeutic dosage, overdosage, failure to receive medication, adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, and medications without indication.
- Provide patients and other healthcare providers with education on medication use, side effects, and drug interactions when appropriate.
- Communicate with physicians and pharmacists to recommend changes in medication therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
- Support the process of completing medication prior authorizations as needed.
- Document patient progress and outcomes for future reporting.
- Assure ongoing performance improvement of pharmaceutical care services provided.
- Provide physician education through presentations and Cedars-Sinai Medical Group internal monthly newsletter.
- Train pharmacy residents and students rotating through Cedars-Sinai Medical Group.
- Participate in meetings within the department.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- CA Pharmacist License
- Basic Life Support by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Oncology experience
- Epic and Beacon experience
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and coordinate work
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, etc)
