Commercial Banking Specialist

This position will serve as a key support function for the production officers of the Commercial Banking area, focusing on developing and maintaining commercial lending and depository relationships for b1BANK.

The ideal candidate should be highly entrepreneurial and motivated, as this position will prepare them for success as a Commercial Banking leader within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Bankers in preparation of loan file comments, monitor loan covenants, and ensure proper financial statement reporting.
  • Prepare and/or analyze various periodic reports as requested by Senior Management, including portfolio trends, exceptions to loan policy, risk ratings, and loans sorted by collateral codes.
  • Responsible for keeping current on all deposit and credit compliance and regulations, disseminating this information to the team, and ensuring proper procedures are followed.
  • Monitor loan repayment activity and take necessary action to collect past due accounts, discussing with supervisor as required.
  • Maintain a general understanding of products and services available within b1BANK to refer customers to the proper department contact person.
  • Provides support for the Bank's sales efforts, which may include selling and promoting b1BANK's services as opportunities arise.
  • Performs duties quickly and accurately while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Promotes b1BANK's financial institution and its lending and depository services to the community and helps to identify and serve the community's financial needs by participating in community activities.

Credit/Lending Role:

  • Analyze financial and credit information pertaining to prospective and existing customers, provide subjective and objective risk taking, and determine their loan repayment capabilities.
  • Makes recommendations for changes to loan structure or presentation, as needed.
  • Completes Lenders' portions of credit approval presentation and prepares a written analysis of the loan and borrower.
  • Assist in general preparation for credit presentations to appropriate approval authority.
  • Recommends credit grades.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • One or two years' experience in a financial institution or loan office setting, preferred.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time and activity under minimal supervision.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel.
