Your role is crucial. Every position impacts patient care, and we seek a committed PRN Security Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications

Under the supervision of the Facilities/Security Director, this role is responsible for ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors, safeguarding hospital property, and patrolling assigned areas. Licensed peace officers may assume additional responsibilities during emergencies as required.

  • Maintain communication with supervisors regarding activities and issues in assigned areas.
  • Assist hospital personnel and visitors, intervening in conflicts when necessary.
  • Report safety hazards and security breaches.
  • Provide escorts for personnel as needed.
  • Participate in investigations and maintain accurate records of security activities.
  • Respond to emergencies, including disasters and alarms, and participate in drills.
  • Inspect property being removed from the premises.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Effectively utilize department equipment and provide training to others.
  • Engage in professional development through workshops and educational opportunities.
  • Communicate any security concerns to the Facilities/Security Director.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Certification standards as mandated by state regulations, with a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education every two years.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in security or law enforcement within a healthcare setting or military medical environment.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Law Enforcement Certification.
