We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our project development and execution team, you will be responsible for providing hands-on engineering expertise in the development of electromechanical assemblies for government customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, working closely with electrical and chemical engineers.
- Ensure compliance with Mil-Std requirements in the design process.
- Create 2D drawings in SolidWorks and design for manufacturing.
- Maintain organized SolidWorks part and assembly files, with experience with PDM preferred.
- Serve as project manager for complete projects.
- Maintain an up-to-date Bill of Materials (BOM) for assemblies.
- Lead prototype builds and work hands-on with the team.
- Work directly with vendors and the purchasing department to procure prototype components.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.
- 2D and 3D drawing skills.
- Design for manufacturing expertise.
