About the Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled full-time ASL staff interpreter to join our team at ContextGlobal, Inc. in the Washington D.C. area.

This role offers a unique chance to support deaf and hard of hearing students in the k-12 setting by providing ASL interpreting services as their mode of communication.

Key Responsibilities

As an ASL staff interpreter, you will be assigned to a school for the duration of a school year or as needed, working closely with students, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication.

You will provide high-quality interpreting services, demonstrating excellent signing and voicing skills, and adhere to ethical guidelines.

In addition to your technical skills, we value candidates with strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and a solid understanding of Deaf culture and educational vocabulary.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a sign language interpreter or completion of an Interpreter Training Program;
  • Possession of good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Ability to communicate complex information accurately and clearly;
  • Familiarity with educational settings and procedures;
