The Human Resources Generalist at Ole' Mexican Foods, Inc. performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: Employee Relations, Training and Development, Employment, Affirmative Action and Employment Equity program, Benefits Management, Payroll Management, and Legal Compliance. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Employee Documentation and Compliance: Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
- Employee Disciplinary Actions: Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
- Personnel Partnerships: Partners with all managers on decisions related to personnel, including confidential and sensitive matters.
- Relationship Building: Maintains positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate sensitive matters in a direct and diplomatic manner.
- Legal Compliance: Ensures legal compliance in all aspects of the generalist function.
- Ethical Standards: Maintains ethical standards at all times.
- Coaching and Counseling: Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
- Unemployment Benefits: Maintains and processes Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
- Recruitment Support: Assists with recruitment tasks as needed, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews.
- Employee Relations Specialist: Acts as an employee relations specialist.
- Tardy and Absenteeism Reports: Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems.
- Employee Files and Records: Maintains employee personnel files and has excellent record-keeping skills.
- Employee Phone List: Maintains, updates, and distributes the employee phone list.
- Form I-9 Compliance: Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and periodically audits Forms I-9.
- Workers' Compensation: Reports and monitors all workers' compensation case files and follows up on open cases with the insurance carrier to ensure timely and precise reporting.
- Employee Recognition Programs: Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
- Language Skills: Communicates in both Spanish and English fluently.
- Recruitment Experience: Must have recruitment experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
