Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Employee Documentation and Compliance: Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  • Employee Disciplinary Actions: Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  • Personnel Partnerships: Partners with all managers on decisions related to personnel, including confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Relationship Building: Maintains positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate sensitive matters in a direct and diplomatic manner.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensures legal compliance in all aspects of the generalist function.
  • Ethical Standards: Maintains ethical standards at all times.
  • Coaching and Counseling: Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.
  • Unemployment Benefits: Maintains and processes Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Recruitment Support: Assists with recruitment tasks as needed, including reviewing applications and conducting interviews.
  • Employee Relations Specialist: Acts as an employee relations specialist.
  • Tardy and Absenteeism Reports: Monitors tardy and absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive tardiness or absenteeism problems.
  • Employee Files and Records: Maintains employee personnel files and has excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Employee Phone List: Maintains, updates, and distributes the employee phone list.
  • Form I-9 Compliance: Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and periodically audits Forms I-9.
  • Workers' Compensation: Reports and monitors all workers' compensation case files and follows up on open cases with the insurance carrier to ensure timely and precise reporting.
  • Employee Recognition Programs: Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Language Skills: Communicates in both Spanish and English fluently.
  • Recruitment Experience: Must have recruitment experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
