Job Summary

The Program Director is responsible for coordinating activities of personnel at assigned bases, reporting to the Senior Program Director or Regional Director, and collaborating with the Aviation, Maintenance, and Membership Departments. This role involves administering the financial, marketing, growth, and business aspects for the assigned bases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily base activities of Flight Nurses and Flight Paramedics
  • Collaborate with Base Pilot Supervisor for pilot activities
  • Ensure proper coverage for all medical shifts
  • Assist on-duty medical crew with securing replacement staff for sick calls
  • Review electronic payroll of medical crew for accuracy and submit for approval before the stated deadline
  • Resolve medically related problems or issues as they occur with feedback to appropriate persons or refer the issue to the appropriate person for resolution
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of medical staff performance
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment and supplies
  • Participate in the evaluation of new equipment/supplies and oversee inventory and supplies
  • Oversee base spending and submit required reports as defined by policy
  • Responsible for the maintenance and organization of facilities
  • Run monthly staff meetings at assigned base to include preparing an agenda, typing minutes, and assuring delivery of minutes to all crew members and safety department
  • Ensure crew members follow policy for work-related injuries and exposures
  • Submit detailed reports to the RDBO
  • Collaborate with the appropriate Educator and Medical Director to resolve any deficiencies
  • Collaborate with the Communications Supervisor and the RDBO on Communications Center issues
  • Review monthly CQI reports and refer those with deficiencies to appropriate Educator, Medical Director, or Director of Clinical Care Services
  • Supervise Flight Nurses and Flight Paramedics
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with staff and present information to management, public groups, and hospital/EMS/911 agencies
  • Possess efficient project/task completion and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Possess the ability to elicit staff involvement and a positive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret health and flight-related journals, operational reports, and job-specific legal documents
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Computer literacy required
  • Permanent residence within 70 miles of the base location
  • Two years of Supervisor/Leadership experience preferred
