Overview
The State of New Mexico is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse III MDS Nurse to coordinate and develop the Minimum Data Set (MDS) resident assessment in accordance with state and federal regulations at a long-term care facility.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for conducting and coordinating the development and completion of the MDS resident assessment, reviewing medical records, performing resident assessments, developing written plans of care, and more. The ideal candidate will have strong nursing and medical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Responsibilities
- Initiate the opening and closing of assessments.
- Review medical records for documentation of the resident's condition.
- Perform resident assessments.
- Develop a written plan of care.
- Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or eligibility for such licensure, three years of experience in a related field, and strong nursing and medical knowledge. You must also be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, deal tactfully with personnel and residents, and function independently with flexibility and personal integrity.
Working Conditions
This position requires working in office areas and throughout the nursing service area, moving intermittently during working hours, and being subject to frequent interruptions and hostile and emotionally upset individuals. You must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
Benefits
This position offers a competitive salary range of $64,714 - $103,542 annually, based on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
