About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Environmental Operations team at Vail Resorts. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our goal of Zero Waste to Landfill.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing waste recycling and compost programs
  • Handle, sort, and transport large quantities of recyclable and compostable materials
  • Repair, maintain, and clean recycling receptacles throughout the year
  • Assist departments with trash removal in all base areas
  • Maintain guest-facing recycling receptacles
  • Provide education regarding recycling programs and environmental initiatives to guests and employees
  • Assist in implementing new environmental programs within the company
  • Work with other departments to build and maintain cohesive working relationships
  • Assist with the compost program
  • Take the initiative to improve the efficiency of the department
  • Ability to lead projects
  • Assist with training
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to drive oversized trucks and operate vehicles in tight areas
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload successfully
  • Ability to provide exceptional internal and external customer service
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions
  • Able to perform manual labor, lift 75 lbs, and handle or move 125 lbs
  • Strong work ethic
  • Strong environmental background
