As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of animal care and welfare, ensuring the health and well-being of animals in our shelter.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of animal spaces, including animal housing, outdoor areas, and equipment.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals in assigned areas, providing medical care and administering medications as needed.
  • Develop and implement enrichment programs to promote the physical and emotional well-being of animals.
  • Unload, store, and replenish animal care supplies, maintaining a clean and organized storage area.
  • Assist with animal intake, housing, and transportation, ensuring the safety and well-being of animals.
  • Complete and ensure accuracy of paperwork for animals, including data entry for incoming animals and daily activities.
  • Participate in humane euthanasia procedures, demonstrating compassion and empathy for animals and their owners.
Requirements
  • Experience caring for animals, preferably in a shelter or kennel setting.
  • Passion for working with animals and people, with excellent judgment and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Familiarity with computer database applications and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment

Hours are based on organizational needs, with flexibility to work weekend shifts and overtime as required. Our team is passionate about animal welfare and is committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment.
