As part of FurnitureLand South's expansion strategy, the Commercial Sales Specialist will serve as the sales representative for the contract division. This role involves collaborating with clients who have commercial needs to successfully close sales opportunities. The specialist will also focus on generating new business through local connections and fostering design partnerships. Meeting or exceeding established sales targets is essential in this position. This role is vital for maintaining relationships with key clients while also attracting new customers through lead generation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Achieve or surpass all designated sales targets.
  2. Enhance the reputation of FurnitureLand South by providing expert knowledge, presenting high-quality products tailored to customer solutions, and exploring opportunities to add value to project outcomes.
  3. Contribute to our vision of improving the way our region operates, learns, and lives by staying informed on industry trends and delivering optimal solutions.
  4. Evaluate and qualify potential opportunities within accounts by analyzing project requirements, timelines, financial considerations, and the competitive landscape.
  5. Engage in discovery discussions to understand project timelines, budgets, and constraints, and identify solutions that maximize sales volume and customer satisfaction.
  6. Build strong relationships with key decision-makers by exceeding customer expectations, conducting regular visits, and being readily accessible.
  7. Provide occasional entertainment and educational opportunities to key decision-makers to enhance brand awareness and loyalty.
  8. Stay updated on new product offerings, industry trends, and job knowledge through professional publications and networking.
  9. Assist in determining budgetary capital plans for the upcoming fiscal year and future forecasts.
  10. Collaborate with design teams for project specifications and assist with product selections.
  11. Deliver detailed, benefit-focused product presentations along with comprehensive quotes for each project, revising as necessary.
  12. Discuss terms and conditions with clients, secure signatures, and manage credit applications and deposits as required.
  13. Follow up, negotiate, and finalize projects; coordinate orders and oversee installation processes.
  14. Keep clients informed about billing timelines and payment expectations, and follow up on collections weekly.
  15. Conduct final walk-throughs and compile punch lists for each project, assisting with job close-out.
  16. Administer annual customer satisfaction surveys and project-specific feedback where applicable.
  17. Assist clients with warranty-related repairs and replacements as needed.
  18. Inform clients about value-added services beyond furniture, such as move management and design, proposing these services when appropriate.
  19. Notify the Sales Manager and develop an action plan immediately if an account shows signs of discontinuing services.
  20. Adhere to all project management processes as outlined by the Director.
  21. Identify community donation and sponsorship opportunities for approval by the Executive Team.
  22. Maintain contact with all assigned existing accounts.
  23. Follow the training path defined by the department manager for the specified position.
  24. Establish annual objectives for team members.
  25. Create 90-day action plans each quarter.
  26. Utilize sales tools developed by FurnitureLand South.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent with three or more years of relevant experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Associate's degree from an accredited institution with one year of experience. A minimum of 3 years of experience in sales and design or a related field.
