The network serves over 20 million users across California, including the vast majority of K-20 students together with educators, researchers, and individuals at other vital public-serving institutions.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately maintaining the financial records by performing various accounting functions requiring professional competency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing journal entries and completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Providing account analysis and ensuring accurate financial reporting
  • Assisting with processing telco carrier invoices and calculating and producing member CalREN billings and associated subsidies from Federal and State programs
  • Reconciling assigned accounts, pass-through income and expenses, and Erate/CTF for the assigned segments
  • Preparing monthly supplemental reporting for managers
  • Assisting with annual financial audits

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of two years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of GAPP (general accounting principles and procedures)
  • Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot table) and MS office applications
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision to complete tasks by required timelines
