Job Summary

As a Facility Admissions Coordinator at the University of Maryland Medical System, you will play a critical role in ensuring a seamless patient experience from initial contact to admission. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Data Collection and Verification: Collect and verify patient and insurance demographics, as well as verify insurance benefits and coverage.
  • Registration and Scheduling: Assist with registration and scheduling processes, including collecting co-pays and deposits, and providing financial assistance to patients.
  • Wayfinding and Navigation: Provide wayfinding to clinics and assist patients in navigating the facility.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and ensure accurate and timely reporting and billing.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and other departments to resolve coverage issues and ensure seamless patient flow.
  • Training and Development: Assist with training new staff members and demonstrate department operating processes and procedures.
Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with one to two years of experience in a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, are essential.
