We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Case Manager & Parent Advocate to join our Mental Health Team at the Institute for the Redesign of Learning. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in connecting families with essential mental health resources, providing unwavering support, and advocating for positive change.

About the Role

In this impactful position, you will:

  • Assess the child and family's needs for resources in the community.
  • Provide community resources for the child and family based on their underlying needs.
  • Travel daily to the child and family's homes, schools, and community settings.
  • Document all services provided in progress notes daily with the use of computers.
  • Advocate on behalf of the client/parents for treatment and resources.
  • Facilitate and support a working relationship for parents who resist engaging in treatment.
  • Interpret in Spanish for Therapist or Psychiatrist as needed.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • An Associate's degree in Human Behavioral fields or a similar field.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • 1-3 years experience with learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and emotional disorders.
  • Proficient in modern office technology and equipment, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Teams), Adobe, Zoom, basic email, and Internet, and learn and adapt to new systems and software.
  • Interest in furthering professional development and training experience.
  • Auto insurance liability coverage for work-related travel (25/50k liability coverage).
  • A valid California Driver's License.
  • Must clear a current background check through the FBI and state agencies.
  • A current TB Test (within the last 6 months).
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with Los Angeles County juvenile systems, including mental health, behavioral health, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), or probation services is highly valued. Experience as a parent or foster parent of a child that was involved in one of these programs is preferred.
