Urologist Position Overview

The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Urologist to join our team at the VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. As a Urologist, you will provide direct patient care to our unique Veteran population, utilizing your expertise in all aspects of clinical urology.

Responsibilities
  • Provide mentorship to urology residents in an accredited urology program
  • Perform history and physical examinations, diagnose, prepare treatment plans, and manage patients with complex illnesses of the genitourinary system
  • Conduct surgery on the genitourinary system, including resection/repair of kidney, ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate, and external genitalia
  • Conduct cystoscopy with or without biopsy fulguration, stone destruction/removal, urethrotomy, and placement, revision, and removal of male or female slings or mesh
  • Conduct ureteroscopy and pyeloscopy, as well as neuromodulation via percutaneous or implanted device with fluoroscopic guidance
Requirements
  • Board certified or board eligible in urology
  • 1-3 years of recent surgical experience
Benefits
  • Competitive salary range: $365,000-$385,000
  • Annual performance bonus
  • Regular salary increases
  • 50-55 days of paid time off per year
  • Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
  • Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
  • No physician employment contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
